FootballSmartRebounder
Voon Sports is a company that embraces innovation in conventional training techniques, by leveraging its knowledge and passion for sports and technology. With experience in the B2B market for football rebounders designed exclusively for professional use, Voon aims to make the leap into the B2C market with next-generation of football rebounders.
The project’s goal was to develop a product that would stand out from the competition, incorporating their electronic device, and that could be manufactured using methods that would avoid significant initial investment in tooling. Additionally, the rebounder needed to be usable at two angles and with two types of legs: serrated for grass and smooth for parquet.
Design Details – A significant part of the design process focused on providing effective solutions for the transportation, storage, and assembly of the product, as we identified that competitors did not address these aspects. To achieve this, we developed a joint system that allows the product to be compacted for better portability while also offering easy assembly. The tongue-and-groove system eliminates the need for hardware, optimising the number of parts and preventing deterioration, thus extending the product’s lifespan compared to competitors. In addition, it was essential to integrate lighting to enhance the gaming experience without compromising the product’s aesthetics.
Design for manufacturing – The production process is planned to utilise laser cutting to avoid molds, using high-density plastic sheets. This ensures the robustness needed to withstand significant impacts and provides the product with the necessary weight for stability during use.
Design for Kickstarter – In addition to design and development, we also led and supported the direction and decision-making processes necessary during the pre-campaign and crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter launched in 2024. →ExploreTheCampaign
