TuffTray
In collaboration with AmayaSport, a leading manufacturer and distributor of educational school products, we developed a project focused on the design of a sensory light tray for children aged 3 and up. The main challenge was to create an attractive, safe and versatile product that enhances sensory exploration and user interaction, while considering the constraints and opportunities of thermoforming manufacturing.
The concept is built around a hexagonal geometry, strategically chosen to encourage pattern composition and modular construction between pieces, promoting collaborative play and cognitive development through visual and tactile experimentation. Soft forms and rounded edges were developed to improve ergonomics and tactility, ensuring a safe and pleasant user experience. The color palette was defined to stimulate engagement and curiosity, reinforcing the playful and educational character of the system.

Accessories
The product was designed in multiple configurations to adapt to different use contexts: versions with and without lighting, and with and without legs, increasing its versatility for both educational and domestic environments. As a complement, six accessory pieces (“segments”) were developed to fit inside the hexagon, allowing multiple combinations and expanding the possibilities for play, sorting, and learning.
