Volt Padel is a Portuguese padel brand founded in 2016 with the mission of creating padel sports equipment with a unique balance between quality and design. The main goal of the project was to develop a new racket model aimed at experienced and aggressive players looking to maximize power in every shot. Therefore, we designed a diamond shape specifically tailored to an offensive playing style, featuring a high balance and a reduced sweet spot.
The product concept – As this racket is designed for explosive play, it is crucial to consider the high speeds during hitting. The core of the racket was inspired by the aerodynamic shaped of racing cars. Its wide air intake ensures lower resistance during play, while the central pillar is responsible for distributing and minimizing vibrations in the handle as much as possible.
The development of the racket mold – We designed the mold with a “V”-shaped core, which represents the essence of the brand, featuring a wide opening towards the sides of the racket. Furthermore, it includes a vertical pillar that extends towards the player’s hand to improve the sensations during hitting. The hole pattern of the mold features an organic distribution across the impact area.
Project scope – Initially, the mold was designed to suit a wide range of players due to its versatile gameplay. However, Ana Catarina Nogueira, a professional player on the World Padel Tour and a member of the Volt team, ultimately chose it as her official racket.
