BoosterPackaging
Volt Padel is a Portuguese padel brand founded in 2016 with the mission of creating padel sports equipment with a unique balance between quality and design. After conceptualizing and developing the Booster in the studio, the next objective of the project was to launch it to the market, which required exclusive commercial packaging.
Packaging concept – First, we needed to consider how the user would interact with the packaging. Since the product has a ring shape that adapts to the handle of the racket, we aimed to find a box that could convey a similar feeling to opening a traditional ring box. As a result, we came up with the idea of a circular box in two parts to create an unboxing experience that resonates with the user when removing the lid, while also presenting a question: “Do you accept the challenge?”
Product concept – Since the product itself was very special, we ensured that the packaging effectively communicated its purpose and use, including incorporating the instructions into the lid. This approach not only explains how to use the product but also eliminates the need for additional paper inserts inside the packaging.
CMF Design (Color, Material, Finish) – This packaging is designed to use only cardboard for manufacturing, allowing VoltPadel to minimize the use of single-use plastic as much as possible. To showcase the product without a transparent plastic window or an open box, we use a 1:1 scale render to present the product to the buyer. It is produced using three main inks (black, white, and yellow) with a matte finish, except for a shiny effect on the render to draw the customer’s attention. We aim to create an elegant packaging that buyers are likely to keep.
